This day was partly a more thorough orientation day. I was given a work laptop and walked through the process of setting up all my relevant accounts. The IT department admitted that I might not necessarily need a laptop since most of my work can be completed on my phone or without the need of any technology. However, it is the policy of the organization and the human resources department in particular to provide employees, interns included, with all the necessary tools to complete the functions of their position.
After setting up my laptop, we had a time set to take headshots to be used for employee badges, profile photos, and a new intern announcement email. This process was useful in that it made the internship experience feel more official, and made it feel more like I am an official part of the organization. The headshot time was relatively quick, and just involved taking a photo from the press box booth with a view of the field behind me.

Even on an orientation day, I was assigned a project that included some manual labor. In order to prepare for an upcoming soccer tournament to be held on the sports fields which are part of the Hall of Fame Village, it became my responsibility to go to each of the fields and place corner flags at each corner of the endzones on four different fields. While this was a relatively easy task, performing the work in cold weather was not enjoyable. This experience showed me the importance of planning ahead and including weather conditions in planning for set up time, as well as the actual event.
