Hall and Village (4/8)

One of the biggest challenges I have noticed is in the relationship between the Hall of Fame Village and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This is a bit of a unique relationship to begin with as the Hall of Fame Village essentially took over the long-term plans of the Hall of Fame and have been making it their own. However, there is still a sense of ownership on the part of the Pro Football of Fame regarding things like the Stadium and Sports Complex. The biggest tension point I have noticed is a lack of regard from the PFHOF toward using the Stadium or giving tours. There doesn’t seem to be a clear distinction between the two entities regarding who has use of the facilities or who needs to request permission for the use of those facilities. If I was in a position to do so, I would recommend a meeting between the two groups to establish a clear set of procedures and policies for using the Stadium or other items or supplies that have been used by one group or the other in the past or might have caused some friction for one reason or another. There doesn’t seem to be many instances where the two groups come together, apart from planning events during Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend. It makes sense to me, since the public perception of the two organizations are so closely linked, to bring employees from each group together to reach a consensus on how best to work together.
