I am beginning to be offered more independence with completing tasks on my own. Today, that meant taking the lead on moving a couch to stage a green room to be shown during Stadium tours. It hasn’t been many tasks of great importance, but being able to have some independence has been a nice change of pace and I believe it shows that I am gaining the trust of my manager and coworkers. This has also helped me gain more confidence in navigating the Stadium and in performing some of the more common tasks.

I would have to say that, so far, my favorite part of the internship experience has been simply working in a sports-related facility. There is something about just being sports-adjacent that makes even menial tasks more enjoyable, and I do not dread coming into work any day. In fact, most days I am excited just to come in and find out what I’m going to be doing for the day, even though the tasks I am asked to perform are not the most exciting or unique. This experience has further solidified my desire to work in and around sports, and it has proven that just being around sports is exciting for me, regardless of the actual position or responsibilities I may be fulfilling. I still am not certain what area of sports management I would like to make my career in, but I am completely confident that moving into sports in some capacity has been a quality decision.
