Similar to our activity from 3/7, this day consisted of preparing the fields that make up the Sports Complex for upcoming events. With a youth soccer tournament scheduled to take place the next weekend, the impetus was on ensuring that each field had adequate goals and field lines for two games to take place on each field. Some of the goals had been damaged over the last season, which meant they needed to be replaced prior to this first tournament of the 2022 summer season. This meant we needed to unpack and assemble several youth-sized soccer goals and carry them to the appropriate fields.

With four of us working on the task, it took the entire day to assemble the goals and move them onto the fields. I was able to see the importance of teamwork and foresight in planning for times like these, as we were able to assemble the goals in a multipurpose storage/work area that was enclosed and heated, which was extremely convenient on this day as it was below 30 degrees and windy for most of the day. Had the managers of the construction project not thought to include a building that could be used for tasks like this, we would have been miserable and cold and likely would have been unable to complete all the necessary work in one day. The same would have been true if we had not utilized each available person in the department, as it took the entire day with four people working almost nonstop to complete the work.
