Working Together and Growth (4/4)

This day was a relatively new experience by performing some tasks for the Security department. Specifically, we spent most of the day testing walkie-talkies to find any potential dead areas in the Stadium. This task was necessary because the Security office is changing locations to a more secluded location within the Stadium and the walkie-talkies had not been tested prior to making that decision. This took most of the morning and was another opportunity for me to navigate every area of the Stadium. We did find some dead spots, but most of the areas of the campus were able to communicate with one another without a problem. This experience mostly showed how many different areas of Operations have to work together, especially when a large organization is still being fleshed out.

I was also part of some conversations regarding future hiring ideas and positions that will be created. It has been very interesting to see how the early stages of a large organization are being operated. All my previous experience has been with more well-established organizations or small companies that did not plan to get much bigger. Seeing how many plans are in place for expansion in all areas has been intriguing and is something I wouldn’t mind seeing play out. Those employees that have been here for a few years have expressed some frustration with the growth process, but there is still an air of quiet optimism surrounding the organization. It has also been interesting to have varying conversations with employees that have different mindsets and get a feel for where everyone is regarding the organization.
